Regulations
1. The Blackheath Music Festival is open to amateurs only. An amateur, for these purposes, is defined as a person who does not receive or has never received the chief part of his/her income from the teaching or practice of the subject in which he/she is performing. Any dispute regarding eligibility shall be resolved by the Committee of the Festival.
2. Entries are to be made via the online entry form. Entry fees cannot be returned in cases where the date or time of a class proves inconvenient to the performer. It will be appreciated that detailed timetabling cannot begin until all the entries are received.
3. Only one entry per performer will be accepted in each class, except in ensemble classes where the performer may play with one or more different partners.
4. Time limits, where stated, must be strictly adhered to. The adjudicator may, where this limit is going to be over-run, stop the performance once he/she has made a satisfactory assessment of that performance.
5. A copy of Own Choice music must be provided for the adjudicator on the day of the class. Photocopies for use by the adjudicator will be accepted. The photocopy will be destroyed by the Festival immediately after the event.
6. The adjudicator’s decision, in all matters relating to the musical result of a class, is final.
7. The Committee does not hold itself responsible for any injuries sustained by any performer or member of the public whilst on Festival premises. The Committee also will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to the performers' copies, mark sheets, or any other property at the Festival.
8. The Festival is bound by copyright law and cannot allow photography, tape or video recordings, all of which are forbidden during performances or adjudications.
9. The Festival maintains its own Child Protection Policy which is available for inspection at any time.
10. We require certain information to maintain contact with you for the purposes of completing payment for entry, creating the festival schedule, as well as creating and publishing the festival programme. We maintain such information securely and do not share it with third-parties. By completing this entry form you are confirming that you authorise the festival committee to use the information for these purposes. Festival committee contact details can be found on the Blackheath Music Festival website.
